Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodríguez are now officially husband and wife after a low-key civil ceremony at their home in Portugal, attended by their five children. The 41-year-old footballer and the 32-year-old former shop assistant met in 2016 and married exactly a decade later, on Tuesday, August 16, 2026.
Intimate Ceremony at Home
Details of the wedding emerged after Vogue magazine was granted rights to the ceremony. The couple chose to exchange vows in the living room of their house, with minimal guests. Georgina told Vogue: "We've chosen to do it in the living room of our house here, where we have breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and where we live the reality of our lives."
She added: "In 30 years' time, I want the children to think, something wonderful happened at this table – the wedding vows of our parents." The model also said: "When I was a little girl, I dreamt of the biggest castle, the biggest carriage, the longest dress, a crown full of diamonds. And now I'm saying: no. I want something intimate, with my partner and our children, at home."
Wedding Details and Family
The bride wore Gucci, with a sheer white shirt, white skirt, satin shoes, and diamond jewellery from Chopard. Ronaldo wore a white t-shirt and an ivory coloured suit. The couple's children include nine-year-old twins Eva Maria and Mateo Ronaldo, eight-year-old Alana Martina, four-year-old Bella Esmeralda, and 16-year-old Cristiano Jr., Ronaldo's son from a previous relationship.
After the ceremony, the couple drove an hour to the Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima, where they received a blessing from a priest. They forwent a honeymoon and flew back to Saudi Arabia, where Ronaldo plays for Al-Nassr.

Ronaldo's spokesperson confirmed the marriage on Tuesday, saying: "Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodriguez were married today in a civil ceremony in Cascais, Portugal, and are now officially husband and wife. The ceremony was a private and intimate moment attended by their five children."
A copy of the marriage certificate was published by Jornal de Noticias on Thursday, noting just four witnesses at the wedding. Reports suggest that Ronaldo's mother, Dolores Aveiro, and his siblings, Hugo, Elma and Katia, were not present. Local news in Portugal has suggested the family only discovered they were getting married moments before the vows.
Ronaldo has previously spoken about fatherhood, saying: "Being a father is a unique and personal journey, something that has changed me completely. It's taught me things about love that I never knew existed. It has softened me and given me a different perspective on what is really important in my life."
