Television presenter and producer Richard Osman has tipped Prince Harry for a broadcasting career after praising what he described as a "very good" showing on a podcast during the Prince's visit to the UK in July. Harry appeared on the Joe Marler Will See You Now podcast, and Richard believes the appearance could signal a future in front of the camera for King Charles's youngest son.
Osman's advice for Harry
Speaking on The Rest Is Entertainment, he said: "I saw him on the Joe Marler podcast. He's very good on things like that. And I think you could build a fairly nice media career for Harry where he just appears on television every now and again. If I was his advisor, and I can exclusively reveal that I'm not, I'd have him meeting people."
Richard then floated a particular proposal for Harry, suggesting he would be ideally suited for a spot on Michael McIntyre's The Wheel. The game show, fronted by comedian McIntyre, features seven celebrities positioned around a wheel, each bringing their own specialist knowledge. It broadcasts on BBC on Saturday evenings, reports the Express.
A role on The Wheel
Richard said: "I'd put him on The Wheel tomorrow, with Michael McIntyre. He'd be great on The Wheel. Michael would look after him, he'd look good if he got something right, he'd look self-depreciating if he got something wrong. I wouldn't put him on The Traitors or I'm A Celebrity or something like that."
Harry and Meghan have denied holding a secret meeting with Christian and Geri Horner as they look to reintegrate back into UK life. It remains to be seen what Harry does for work on his return, but his schedule for several charity commitments in Britain in September were already confirmed.
Harry's Special Forces pitch
He will attend the WellChild Awards in London as he maintains his backing for the event, which honours the bravery of seriously ill children. The Invictus Games will also take place in the UK next summer, with Birmingham selected as the host city. It is understood the family will establish a base in the Cotswolds where they are thought to have friends.
Richard Osman, though, seemingly had his own plans for Harry. Getting into his stride, Richard pitched his own concept for Harry - a fresh programme titled Harry's Special Forces, which he described as a hybrid of DIY SOS and the beloved 1990s game show Challenge Anneka.
Elaborating on the idea, he said: "I've got a show called Harry's Special Forces. It's like DIY SOS meets Challenge Anneka. It is exactly that thing of a house needs rebuilding, a community centre needs rebuilding. But he does it with a bunch of army veterans, people who have been injured in the line of conflict. And they build something and put something together. At the same time he's showing these veterans, they're putting their skills out there for employers, it's feel-good."
The comments come as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are anticipated back in the UK before August draws to a close following a remarkable Megxit reversal. The former working royals have registered their children at school and are understood to be preparing for a stay in Britain "for an extended period of time". Speculation has been rife about what the couple will pursue professionally. Meghan has been earmarked for a potential return to acting, with a part in Guy Ritchie's Netflix series The Gentlemen reportedly on the cards.
