Queen Rania of Jordan has delighted royal watchers by sharing heartwarming pictures of her newborn twin granddaughters. Princess Iman gave birth to the baby girls on August 14, with an official statement released the same day to mark their arrival.
First Meeting with the Newborns
Taking to Instagram on Monday, Queen Rania posted a series of seven photos from what appeared to be her first meeting with the twins. The images show the Queen and King Abdullah II of Jordan each cradling one of the babies, while another captures the proud new mother beaming as she holds one of her daughters. A third image shows the King holding big sister Amina, who was born in February 2025.
Names Revealed in Caption
In her caption, Queen Rania revealed the twins' names, one of which honours her. The caption read: "Healthy, happy, and finally here. We’ve been waiting so long to [red-heart emojis] meet you, Talia and Rania. Congratulations Iman, Jameel, and sweet big sister Amina."
Official Statement from the Royal Hashemite Court
The Royal Hashemite Court issued a statement confirming the birth: "The Royal Hashemite Court is pleased to announce that Her Royal Highness Princess Iman bint Abdullah II and Mr. Jameel Alexander Thermiotis were blessed, on 14 August 2026, with twin baby girls." The statement extended congratulations to the couple and to King Abdullah II and Queen Rania.
Princess Iman, who wed Venezuelan venture capitalist Jameel Alexander Thermiotis on March 12, 2023, arrived at the ceremony arm-in-arm with her older brother, Crown Prince Hussein. The couple's first daughter, Amina, was born in February 2025, just a year and a half before the twins' arrival.
