A new photograph of Queen Camilla has been released to mark her 78th birthday, showing her beaming in a turquoise dress at her Wiltshire home, Raymill. The portrait, taken by photographer Chris Jackson, captures the Queen leaning on a metal gate, wearing gold jewellery including her engagement ring.
The King, who is undergoing cancer treatment, has found comfort in his wife's support since his diagnosis. The couple celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary in April and have had a busy schedule, including hosting a state visit from the French president.
On Wednesday, Camilla received an unusual birthday gift—a roll of clingfilm in a special holder—during a visit to a nuclear-powered submarine in Plymouth. The clingfilm was used to repair a defect in the main engines of HMS Astute. The Queen commented, "There's nothing more useful, brilliant, how wonderful." The gift featured a plaque inscribed with "Clingflim keeping nuclear submarines at sea."
It was also announced that Camilla will be honoured with the honorary title of Vice Admiral in recognition of her support for the Royal Navy.
