Queen Camilla has won public admiration after a cheeky moment with King Charles III during their state visit to Kenya. The Queen was caught on camera affectionately patting the King on the bottom as they visited the Nairobi National Park on Wednesday, November 1.
The fleeting display of love was captured and posted on Instagram by the account royal_updates_uk, with the caption: 'Steady on Camilla!'. The clip shows the couple viewing the work of the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust Elephant Orphanage when Camilla briefly patted Charles on the bum.
The King and Queen have just completed their five-day state visit to Kenya, their first to a Commonwealth country since the King’s accession to the throne. During the visit, Camilla fed an orphaned baby elephant named Mzinga, one of the centre's youngest at a year old, and remarked, 'They look very content, very happy.'
Camilla wore a Liberty cotton elephant and peacock print dress by Fiona Clare with practical brown ankle boots. She was shown around by Angela Sheldrick, whose mother Dame Daphne founded the orphanage, and was introduced to head keeper Edwin Lusichi, who has worked there for more than 20 years.
The royal couple rounded off their state visit by visiting Fort Jesus, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where they gamely posed in a Tuk Tuk. Earlier, Camilla joined in spirited dancing with survivors of domestic abuse and sexual assault at the Sauti Ya Wanawake centre in Mombasa.
