Queen Camilla attended an engagement in London just hours after her brother-in-law, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office. The former prince was detained at his temporary residence on the Sandringham estate on his 66th birthday.
Camilla visited Sinfonia Smith Square concert hall to meet musicians and observe performances, appearing in high spirits as she was welcomed by representatives. Meanwhile, King Charles released a statement declaring that 'the law must take its course' following Andrew's arrest.
Thames Valley Police confirmed that a man in his sixties from Norfolk has been detained and remains in custody. Officers are conducting searches at properties in Berkshire and Norfolk. Assistant Chief Constable Oliver Wright stated that the investigation aims to protect its integrity and objectivity.
Prime Minister Keir Starmer commented that 'nobody is above the law' and urged anyone with relevant information to come forward. The arrest comes amid ongoing investigations related to the Epstein case.
