Kate crouched down to speak to the tearful youngster, patting her back and continuing the conversation as the girl nodded and shrugged. A family member captured the sweet exchange on video. The princess also comforted another emotional little girl named Lucy during the unannounced appearance.
Prince William joined Kate in greeting royal super fans, crouching to chat with children wearing golden crowns. He told well-wishers to enjoy the concert later that evening. The couple's relaxed visit came hours before the star-studded coronation concert at Windsor Castle, featuring performances by Take That, Katy Perry, and Lionel Richie.
