The Princess of Wales wore a watch believed to have been gifted to her by her husband, Prince William, during a meeting earlier this month. Princess Catherine met with billionaire Melinda Gates on October 8 at The Royal Foundation's office in London.

The two women discussed ways to better support the emotional development of youth and children. Both Catherine and Melinda believe in the lifelong impact early relationships and experiences can have on individuals.

Shaping Us Framework and Joint Initiatives

The meeting reportedly saw the two women using the Shaping Us Framework as a guide as they examined potential joint initiatives between Pivotal and The Royal Foundation. These initiatives aim to help young people build essential confidence, resilience, and a sense of belonging.

Melinda is the founder of Pivotal, a group of organisations working together to help social progress for women and young people in the US and around the world. Kensington Palace shared a photograph of the two women from their meeting.

The Cartier Watch Detail

While fans were excited about the potential of the pair working together, a detail from Princess Catherine's outfit caught the eye of royal fans. Catherine chose a watch believed to have been given to her by Prince William.

This is the Cartier Ballon Bleu de Cartier, which Catherine has been seen wearing a number of times. The stainless steel watch, which has a small sapphire and blue hands, was reported to have been given to the Princess of Wales by her husband for their third wedding anniversary in 2014.

She was first pictured wearing it during their 2014 tour of Australia, and it is believed to be the only watch that Catherine wears publicly. She has been previously seen wearing it at Wimbledon.

Sentimental Jewellery

Over the last few years, Catherine has worn jewellery with clear sentimental value to her. This includes necklaces with the initials of her three children on it - Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. She also often wears her favourite rings, including her engagement and wedding rings.

The princess also has eternity rings, gifted to her by her husband William. One was believed to have been a gift when they welcomed Prince George into the world in 2013. She wears different rings on different occasions and is believed to be fond of all her jewellery.
