Princess Eugenie has shared a touching birthday message for her older sister, Princess Beatrice, who turned 34 on Monday. The royal posted a series of photographs on Instagram, including a previously unseen picture with their cousin Zara Tindall.
In the caption, Eugenie wrote: 'Happy birthday to my special big sissy. Love you so much.' The post was met with warm wishes from fans, who also commented on the sweet image featuring Zara.
Beatrice is expected to celebrate privately with her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi and their baby daughter Sienna. This year marks her first birthday as a mother, making the occasion particularly special.
The sisters share an exceptionally close bond, with Eugenie once describing their relationship in a 2008 interview with The Telegraph: 'Mummy, Bea and I call ourselves "The Tripod", they are my best friends in the world.'
Their mother, Sarah Ferguson, recently spoke proudly of her daughters following their appearance at the Queen's Platinum Jubilee. On The Graham Norton Radio Show with Waitrose in June, she recalled: 'I was screaming at the TV... There was Beatrice in blue and Eugenie in orange and they are smiling... I couldn't get over it.'
