Princess Eugenie's newborn daughter, born on August 3, 2026, is one of only two royals so far to be part of Generation Beta, a rare trait she shares with her cousin Athena Mapelli Mozzi.
What is Generation Beta?
Generation Beta, or 'Gen Beta', refers to babies born between 2025 and 2039. This generation could be the first to live into the 22nd century and is expected to grow up with AI integrated everywhere, witness self-driving cars, and experience virtual immersive environments as part of daily life.
The Royal Connection
The only other royal in this generation is Athena Mapelli Mozzi, the second daughter of Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, born last year. Eugenie's baby is her third child with Jack Brooksbank, joining brothers August and Ernest.
Birth Announcement
Eugenie announced the birth on Instagram, writing: "Jack and I are so excited to announce Baby Girl Brooksbank!! We are beyond in love with our girlie." Buckingham Palace confirmed the arrival, stating the baby was born at 6:20 pm on August 3 at a hospital in Lisbon, Portugal, weighing 6 pounds 9 ounces. The Palace added that the King, Queen, and other family members were delighted with the news.
Family Details
The newborn is 15th in line to the throne. It is not yet known if Eugenie's parents, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson, have seen the baby. The couple has not yet named their daughter.
