Royal fans have heaped praise on Prince George and Princess Charlotte for their 'incredible' composure during the state funeral and committal service of Queen Elizabeth II. The young royals, aged nine and seven respectively, attended the solemn events alongside their parents, the Prince and Princess of Wales, at Westminster Abbey and St George's Chapel in Windsor.
The children, who are second and third in line to the throne, sat impeccably through the hour-long service led by the Archbishop of Canterbury. Princess Charlotte wore a black coat dress with a small silver horseshoe gifted by her great-grandmother, while Prince George donned a dark blue suit and black tie. At the end of the service, they walked behind the Queen's coffin in a procession through the gothic church.
Observers took to social media to commend their behaviour. One Mumsnet user said: 'Loved seeing those beautiful children honouring their great grandmother today. Exemplary behaviour and poise for such young children.' Another commented: 'George and Charlotte have incredible composure.' The children's conduct was not without precedent; they were similarly praised during Prince Philip's Service of Thanksgiving, described as a 'credit' to the Royal Family. Their younger brother, Prince Louis, aged four, was deemed too young to attend the funeral events.
