Princess Anne melted hearts on Wednesday after she made a kind gesture during an appearance in London. The Princess Royal was pictured leaving St Olave's Church following the Trinitytide anniversary annual court meeting and luncheon. Anne was dressed in her ceremonial naval uniform, in her role as Master of the Corporation of Trinity House.
In a video now going viral on social media, Anne can be seen asking for an umbrella to give to the woman cleric walking next to her. After handing the umbrella to the woman, the princess continues walking, unfazed by the heavy rain.
Royal fans heaped praise on Anne and took to social media to express their views. One user wrote on X: “What a sweet gesture she did.” Another commented: “She is such a trooper. Regardless of the weather, she shows up to do her duty. And I can easily understand why she handed the umbrella over to the chaplain who was wearing long formal church garments.”
The Princess Royal is regularly seen as the hardest-working member of the Royal Family, consistently racking up the most engagements in a year. Only last year, her brother, the King, carried out the most engagements in 2025. Anne may have worked more days last year but had ultimately taken on fewer engagements than the monarch, who is still undergoing cancer treatment.
