Prince William's Trooping the Colour Message to Harry as He Rides Horseback
Prince William's Trooping the Colour Message to Harry

Prince William, the Prince of Wales, rode horseback at the Trooping the Colour parade, appearing front and centre while Prince Harry was absent from the event once again.

A Clear Signal to Harry

Prince William seemed to deliver a message to Prince Harry as he turned up on horseback at this year's Trooping the Colour ceremony. The 42-year-old was spotted at today's historic occasion, which ranks among the most significant events in the royal diary.

Taking place in London today (June 13), Trooping the Colour is staged each year to celebrate the sovereign's official birthday. William's choice to arrive on horseback places him at the heart of the proceedings, which will eventually, when he ascends the throne, be staged in his honour.

The unmistakable signal seems to demonstrate that William represents the monarchy's future, while his sibling, who now resides in California with his young family, was conspicuously absent.

Harry and Meghan last appeared at Trooping the Colour in 2019, when he appeared with his wife, Meghan Markle. The pair had recently become parents, with Prince Archie's arrival just weeks prior to the ceremony.

Support for the King

The heir apparent's resolve to arrive on horseback today also demonstrates his backing for the King and other senior royals, including his wife, Princess Catherine, reports the Express.

Accompanying their nephew on horseback, Prince Edward and Princess Anne rode as Colonel of the Scots Guards and Colonel of the Blues and Royals respectively.

King Charles travelled to the parade ground in a carriage alongside Queen Camilla. The Queen had a particular part to fulfil in this year's ceremony as she serves as Colonel of the Grenadier Guards regiments, who trooped their Colour at Horse Guards Parade today.

While her husband was on horseback, Princess Catherine made her entrance in the procession, accompanied by their three children. Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 11, and eight-year-old Prince Louis were spotted grinning at spectators who had gathered along The Mall.
