Prince William's sole focus is family, not Harry rift

Prince William, next in line to the throne, is reportedly focused solely on his immediate family and is less concerned about reconciling with his brother, Prince Harry. According to Phil Dampier, author of Royally Suited: Harry and Meghan in their own words, speaking to the Daily Mail: “Friends tell me that, as far as he is concerned, Harry is the past, and he is only concerned about the future for his wife Catherine and their children George, Charlotte and Louis.”

William tops popularity poll

A recent YouGov poll revealed that Prince William is the favourite royal, with his position almost tied with his wife, Princess Catherine. The poll, run every three months, measures changes in public views of members of the Royal Family.

Prince Harry no longer serves as a working member of the Royal Family, having stepped down from royal duties with Meghan Markle in 2020. He has publicly expressed hopes for reconciliation, notably in a BBC interview in May 2025, stating that any reunion would be in his family's hands, adding: “If they don't want that, that's entirely up to them.”

Brothers' relationship 'so broken'

Another insider added that Harry and William’s relationship is “so broken,” reports Marie Claire. The brothers were last seen together in public in September 2022, when they did a joint walkabout with Meghan and Catherine to meet fans outside Windsor Castle after Queen Elizabeth's death.

The relationship reportedly began to fracture around the time Prince Harry started dating Meghan Markle. Tensions heightened after Harry and Meghan's explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey and again after the publication of Harry's book, Spare, in 2023, which contained damaging allegations against the Royal Family.
