Prince William described Meghan Markle as "difficult," "rude," and "abrasive" during an argument with his brother, Prince Harry, according to Harry's bombshell memoir Spare.
The confrontation is thought to have taken place in 2019 at Nottingham Cottage. Harry wrote that William grabbed him by the collar, ripped his necklace, and knocked him to the floor.
What Harry wrote about the clash
"It all happened so fast. So very fast. He grabbed me by the collar, ripping my necklace, and he knocked me to the floor. I landed on the dogs' bowl, which cracked under my back, the pieces cutting into me. I lay there for a moment, dazed, then got to my feet and told him to get out," Harry wrote.
William is said to have brought his sister-in-law into the discussion, describing her with the three words before the physical conflict reportedly took place.
Meghan's reaction
Meghan, who was not present during the confrontation, "wasn't that surprised, and wasn't all that angry… she was terribly sad," Harry wrote.
Brothers' relationship now
The brothers, once incredibly close, are thought to no longer be on speaking terms. During his recent trip to the UK, Harry took his wife and two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, to visit King Charles and Queen Camilla at Highgrove House.
Meghan and the children had not visited the UK since 2022.
