The Prince and Princess of Wales made a surprise appearance at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow on Saturday, joined by their three children for the netball semi-final between Team Australia and Team Jamaica. During the match, eight-year-old Prince Louis appeared to copy his big brother Prince George by rolling up his sleeves.
George, 13, and 11-year-old Princess Charlotte were also present, with Charlotte sitting neatly between her little brother and their mother, Princess Catherine. Louis wore a blue shirt while George wore a smart white shirt; Charlotte matched her brothers in a navy and white dress.
Fans spot the sweet detail
A fan on X noticed the matching gesture, writing: "I love that Prince Louis has his sleeves rolled up like his big brother." Despite the different coloured shirts, the brothers' rolled-up sleeves drew attention from royal watchers.
Fans also expressed delight at the children joining their parents. One wrote: "I hoped the children would be with them, how lovely." Another added: "I am very happy to see them all at the game..." A third said: "I am so glad they've all come to watch the netball."
Under-wraps appearance
Although Kate and William's presence at the event was noted, the addition of George, Charlotte and Louis was kept under wraps. The couple sat on either side of their children.
Louis, known for his cheeky antics, has appeared at many royal events such as Trooping the Colour. However, this is only his second major public appearance; his first came in May 2023, when the family attended an event for the Big Help Out volunteering initiative.
