Prince Harry is facing "a whole lot more pressure" since returning to the UK with Meghan Markle, with an insider claiming the Duke now has "absolutely zero time to himself." The couple are said to have adopted a "divide and conquer" approach as they settle back into life in Harry's home country, with Meghan focusing on their children and her lifestyle brand As Ever while Harry takes on more public and professional commitments.
Divide and conquer approach
According to an insider speaking to Heatworld, Meghan is focused on the children and her business rather than accompanying Harry to every engagement. "Her view is that they should divide and conquer and Harry agrees," the source claimed.
However, the arrangement is said to have increased the pressure on Harry, who is reportedly balancing a busy schedule with family responsibilities. "It does mean a whole lot more pressure on his shoulders and absolutely zero time to himself because the moment he's free from work he's got to rush home to give Meghan a break from parenting duties," the insider claimed.
Work commitments and opportunities
Harry is also said to be working to secure further opportunities for himself and Meghan following the family's move to the UK. The source claimed the Duke was "adamant" that the move would allow him to "bring in more money," with Harry reportedly "running from one gig to the next."
"At the same time he's working all his contacts to find other opportunities, and not just for himself, he wants to open doors for Meghan too, he promised her he would," the insider said.
The claims come as the Sussexes adjust to their new routine, with the couple reportedly spending increasing amounts of time apart because of their different commitments. "Harry is out late schmoozing and Meghan's in bed well before midnight so she can be up early with the children and as soon as the school run is done, she's straight into work mode," the source claimed.
Schooling and security concerns
Their return to the UK has also reportedly brought fresh challenges surrounding their children's schooling. The couple announced in September that Archie and Lilibet had been moved to another school over security concerns relating to traffic in the area. Reports claimed a journey that had taken around 35 minutes during the summer had stretched to an hour once normal traffic returned.
There have also been reports of concerns over the Sussexes' security arrangements, with the couple still awaiting the outcome of a review by the Royal and VIP Executive Committee, known as RAVEC. Harry and Meghan lost their automatic police protection in 2020 after stepping back from their roles as working royals and moving to the United States. Following their return to the UK last month, their security arrangements were reviewed, with the outcome yet to be revealed.
