Prince Harry's Laughing Reaction to King Charles Joke Revealed

Prince Harry laughed off a joke about his father, King Charles, made by Britain's Got Talent winner Sydnie Christmas during a charity event in Canada. The Duke of Sussex met the singer at the David Foster Foundation 40th Anniversary Celebration last Friday, where she performed and later shared his reaction.

Joke About the King

Christmas, who won the 2024 talent show, told The Sun that she joked about meeting Harry's father while on stage. She said: “When I was on stage, I joked about meeting his dad before adding, ‘Sorry he couldn’t make it. He sent me instead’.”

Harry, who had seen King Charles privately in July during a five-day visit to Britain, took the comment lightly. According to Christmas, he laughed and hugged her after her performance.

Harry's Warm Response

Christmas, who performed “Tomorrow” from Annie and Frank Sinatra's “My Way”, described the moment: “Oh my god – I say such silly things when I’m nervous, but Harry started laughing. When I got down off stage, he just came forward and gave me a big cuddle.”

She added that Harry told her: “Sydnie, I felt every word. I really felt that in the back of my throat.” She responded, “He just went in for the hug and I was like, ‘Why not?’.”

Family Visit in July

Harry's trip to Britain in July included a private gathering at Highgrove House with his wife Meghan Markle, their children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, King Charles, and Queen Camilla. It was the first time Archie and Lilibet saw their grandfather in person in four years.
