Prince Harry has seemingly "taken control" of his relationship with his wife of eight years, Meghan Markle. The couple, who tied the knot in Windsor in 2018, have since welcomed seven-year-old Prince Archie and five-year-old Princess Lilibet.
Shift in relationship dynamic
According to one royal expert, their relationship dynamic has appeared to change over the years, with the latest major change seen to have taken place since the couple's visit to Australia in April and their recent trip to the UK last month.
Meghan and Harry attended a private meeting with King Charles at Highgrove House on July 10, the monarch's first meeting with his two youngest grandchildren since 2022. The couple travelled Down Under for joint and separate work commitments in mid-April, with their two children not joining them for the trip.
Expert observations
Royal expert Bronte Coy told The Sun's Royal Exclusive podcast: "I made this point when I came back from Australia when I was there earlier this year, I found this really intriguing because I agree that everything I'd seen of them prior to that was the Meghan show."
"I think in the US, certainly, when this Megxit happened, she's very much been sort of the architect of what their life was going to be," she added. "I was fascinated by the fact that when they arrived in Australia, and in this UK trip as well recently, it more felt like he was the one that was leading the charge, which surprised me."
"So again, this may be a tonal shift over the years, you know, with him sort of figuring out what the rest of it."
Earlier body language analysis
The couple made a surprise appearance at the premiere of Bob Marley: One Love in Kingston back in 2024, with one body language expert suggesting that Meghan appeared to be "in charge". At the time, the expert said that Harry appeared slightly "awkward" and it was very clear that Meghan is "in charge".
Speaking of the couple, Judi James told Woman Magazine that Meghan's "touch rituals" were closely observed, suggesting "loving ownership". Meghan and Harry have been married for eight years.
