Prince Harry Reveals Archie's First Lesson at New UK School

Prince Harry has revealed fresh details about his children’s new school during a public walkabout in Nottingham this week. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped out together on Thursday for their first joint public engagement since relocating back to Britain in August. While they are no longer working royals and are carrying out charity work as “private citizens”, the walkabout was very much conducted in a royal style. Both Harry and Meghan spent time shaking hands with the waiting public, taking selfies and even receiving gifts.

Archie’s First Day Anecdote

This included bouquets and gift bags for their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, who did not join them on the public walkabout. While they were not accompanied by Archie, seven, and Lilibet, five, this did not stop Harry and Meghan from talking about them. When speaking to local schoolchildren who had gathered to meet them, Prince Harry even spoke about Archie’s new school here in Britain. He revealed fresh details about the school, including what Archie’s very first lesson was on his first day.

The prince, bending down to talk to students, said: “Most people don’t like math. My son turned around to me and said, ‘Can I go to a school that doesn’t do math?’” The prince continued: “I said, ‘ That doesn’t exist!’ And then he went to his new school, and on his first day, his first class, guess what it was? Math!”

School Details Kept Private

Little detail is known about Archie and Lilibet’s new school here in Britain. The name and location of the school have been deliberately withheld for security reasons. However, it is known that the children are not boarding, and only attend their school during the day. It is also believed that Harry and Meghan do the school run themselves, accompanied by a security convoy.

The school Archie and Lilibet are currently at is actually their second school since moving to the UK in August. This is because the first school the children attended had a busy school run route, which Harry and Meghan’s security team saw as a potential threat. This resulted in the duke and duchess moving their children to another school closer to the home they are renting. The couple said that this decision had nothing to do with the quality of the first school.

Children Settled and Happy

It is believed both children are now happy and settled. A friend of the family told People magazine earlier this week: “The kids have adjusted well.” It is unlikely Archie and Lilibet will make any public appearances with Harry and Meghan in the near future. While Meghan does share photos and videos of her children on Instagram, she always makes sure to conceal most of their faces. This is believed to be for safety and security reasons.
