Prince Harry is reportedly hoping that King Charles will invite him, Meghan, and their two children to Sandringham this summer for some family time. The Duke of Sussex has only seen his father twice in two years, while Prince Archie, six, and Princess Lilibet, four, have not seen their grandfather in over four years.
A friend of Harry told The Sunday Times that an invitation from the King would automatically trigger a security package, allowing the family to visit safely. Harry has previously said he would not feel safe bringing his family to the UK without armed police protection, which was withdrawn when he and Meghan stepped down from royal duties in 2020.
Harry last saw his father on 10 September last year for under an hour at Clarence House. Prior to that, they met in February 2024 after the King's cancer diagnosis, spending just over 30 minutes together. Charles continues to receive treatment for the disease.
The Duke has expressed a desire for reconciliation with his family, stating in interviews that he would love to end the ongoing rift. His memoir 'Spare', published in January 2023, contained allegations against the royal family, including claims of a physical altercation with his brother, Prince William.
