Prince Harry is reportedly "desperate" to spend as much time as possible with his father, King Charles, during his forthcoming visits to the UK, according to reports.
The Duke of Sussex's relationship with the King has been strained in recent years, with only a handful of meetings, typically behind closed doors. However, their reunion at Highgrove in July, which included Meghan Markle and their children, appears to have improved the dynamic.
Improved Relations
It is now believed the pair are on friendlier terms, with further meetings anticipated during Harry's future trips. An insider revealed Harry is delighted to have been invited to stay at Buckingham Palace during his next visit in September.
The source told RadarOnline.com: "Harry being welcomed in a formal capacity (to stay at the Palace) is a significant step. He's desperate to see Charles as much as he possibly can, and is very pleased he's being welcomed back."
Royal Roles Being Fine-Tuned
The royals are fine-tuning certain roles within The Firm, and Harry is reportedly making moves accordingly. The invitation to stay at Buckingham Palace does not alter his standing as a working royal, reports the Express.
Harry, 41, stepped down as a working royal in 2020 alongside Meghan. The couple moved to California, where they live in Montecito with their children Prince Archie, seven, and Princess Lilibet, five.
Retained Titles
While Harry and Meghan no longer carry out royal duties, they retain their titles of The Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Harry has made numerous trips to the UK over the past six years, while Meghan's visits have been less frequent. Prior to July, Meghan, Archie and Lilibet had not been on British soil since 2022, widely believed to be due to security concerns, which led to Harry making solo visits.
