Prince George is set to return home to his family for the Eton College October half-term, which begins next Friday. The break, described on the school's website as “long leave”, will run from October 23 until November 8, giving the 13-year-old just over two weeks at the family's Forest Lodge home with his parents and siblings.
George started at Eton College in September as a full-time boarder, leaving Lambrook School, where he had been a day student with his siblings. Kensington Palace released pictures of the prince in his uniform on his first day but has provided no update since, reportedly because Prince William and Princess Catherine want their oldest son to be left alone to complete his education in peace.
Time with family
The upcoming break will be the most time George has spent with his family since leaving for Eton, as the young prince is known to be close to them. It is also believed this is not the first time he will have been home, as the college designates certain weekends when students are allowed to go home.
One such weekend was earlier this month, when the college allocated “short leave” for students on October 2, running until October 4.
Siblings remain at Lambrook
While George is now a boarder at Eton, his siblings Princess Charlotte, 11, and Prince Louis, eight, still live at the family's Forest Lodge home as day students at Lambrook, which educates pupils up to age 13. This means both still have a few years left at the school.
It is unclear which school Charlotte will move on to after Lambrook, as she cannot follow her older brother to Eton, which is an all-boys school. Prince Louis, on the other hand, is likely to become a student at Eton one day, as Prince George is. Prince William and Princess Catherine have not commented on this.
