The father and son duo volunteered at The Passage homelessness charity in central London, helping to prepare a festive Christmas lunch for those in need.
A Royal Tradition Passed to a New Generation
The visit held deep personal significance for Prince William, marking more than three decades since he first visited the same charity as an 11-year-old with his mother, Diana, Princess of Wales. William, now 43, has been the royal patron of The Passage for years, and his attendance during the Christmas period has become a cherished tradition, with him also helping out in both 2023 and 2024.
This year, however, he brought an extra pair of hands. Twelve-year-old Prince George enthusiastically joined in the preparations, donning an apron alongside his father. The royal volunteers rolled up their sleeves in the kitchen, working alongside the charity's head chef, Claudette Hawkins, and CEO Mick Clarke. Prince William was seen pouring Brussels sprouts into an oven dish, while George carefully arranged Yorkshire puddings on a tray before they were cooked. He recalled expecting a place of sadness but finding "incredibly how happy an environment it was." He described playing chess and chatting with people, which was a pivotal moment in his childhood.
