Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, once flew 1,500 miles in an attempt to date golf legend Tiger Woods, according to a new biography. The book, 'Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York' by Andrew Lownie, claims that Ferguson pursued the then-22-year-old Woods a year after her split from Prince Andrew.
According to the author, Ferguson confided in broadcaster Piers Morgan before her trip, declaring she was "in love" with Woods. Morgan reportedly asked who the lucky guy was, to which Ferguson replied, "He doesn't know yet." She allegedly planned to follow Woods around a golf course to see how she got on.
The pair never became a romantic couple but remained close friends. Ferguson was seen embracing Woods after his 1997 victory at the Byron Nelson tournament in Texas. As recently as 2019, she congratulated him on his Masters win, calling him an "amazing friend" on Instagram.
The book also claims that Ferguson attempted to date John F. Kennedy Jr. in 1997, inviting him for drinks at her hotel. However, Kennedy cancelled after his girlfriend, actress Daryl Hannah, objected. Ferguson allegedly ordered staff to spy on his apartment to verify his excuse.
Lownie's biography further alleges that Ferguson considered remarrying Prince Andrew after their divorce, but Prince Philip opposed the idea, calling it a "squalid public relations exercise." The book is based on four years of research and hundreds of interviews.
