Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly considering issuing a public apology to King Charles in a bid to end the family feud for good, according to reports.
After stepping back from royal duties in 2020, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were outspoken in their criticism of royal life, appearing in interviews, their Netflix docuseries, and Harry's memoir Spare. This caused significant tension with Harry's relatives, though bridges have been slowly rebuilt, particularly between Harry and his father.
Reunion at Highgrove
Just last month, on July 10, the King and Queen Camilla hosted Prince Harry and Meghan at Highgrove. The couple brought their children, Prince Archie, seven, and Princess Lilibet, five. This was the first time Meghan and the children had seen the King since 2022.
The meeting was kept private, with few people aware of it, and no details have been shared, as it was described as a private family matter. It remains unclear whether further visits are planned this year.

A source told royal journalist Rob Shuter, writer of the Naughty But Nice Substack: "Everyone agrees trust has to be rebuilt. An apology doesn't have to be a surrender."
The source added: "It's an acknowledgement that this family feud went too far. Charles wants peace - but he also wants respect. This could be the first real step towards both."
"This isn't about Harry and Meghan admitting they were wrong about everything. It's about acknowledging that the past five years have caused enormous pain. The debate now is over what an apology should say, and, just as importantly, what it shouldn't."
