Piers Morgan has issued what he describes as King Charles's bombshell demand to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, following the Duke of Sussex's latest interview where he called for reconciliation with his family.
Appearing on Fox and Friends in the US on Wednesday, the Uncensored presenter declared that Prince William and King Charles are "not having any of this," as he blasted the Sussexes over their recent comments.
Harry's Reconciliation Call
Prince Harry announced to the world that he is ready to reconcile with the Royal Family. In a rare, in-depth video interview with GQ, the Duke of Sussex opened up about his decision to return to the UK with his wife Meghan Markle and their two children, Archie, seven, and Lilibet, five.
He explained that while he wants to patch things up, "some people don't want to work it out," which his team have since had to deny is a dig at his brother Prince William. The 42-minute chat was recorded in September but aired during a state visit as King Charles, Queen Camilla, William, and the Princess of Wales welcomed the Sultan of Oman to Windsor.
Morgan's Criticism
Piers Morgan slammed Harry's latest comments on wanting to leave the past behind and work for the "greater good." "These two, all the work that they want to do in a good way, is to line their own pockets. They've made themselves very wealthy by trashing their family," he fumed.
While the Royal Family honoured victims on the anniversary of the Aberfan disaster, Piers hit out at the headlines focusing on Harry's call for reconciliation instead, sharing King Charles's demand: "The one word he's never said is sorry. If we want to really see reconciliation, let's see Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle on bended knee grovelling for an apology."
William's Stance
The Duke of Sussex said in his GQ interview that his move back to the UK was in part driven by a desire to be "closer" with his family and hopes to "work out" problems behind the rift. However, the Prince of Wales sees no scenario in the future where he would reconcile with his brother, sources close to the heir told the Mirror.
A source close to Prince William said he remained deeply hurt over the "many things" said by the Duke of Sussex publicly about him and other family members. The brothers have remained estranged since Harry stepped down as working royal in 2020 and following the release of his memoir Spare, where he claimed that William had knocked him to the floor into a dog bowl in a row.
Harry has remained in communication with the King, who was diagnosed with cancer in 2024. Speaking to GQ, Harry expressed hopes to restore his relationship with his family: "Some people don't want it to work out. I want it to work out." He added that "scars stick around forever" but encouraged everybody to let go of the past.
