Emmerdale star Patsy Kensit has been married four times to a string of famous faces, including Oasis star Liam Gallagher. The 58-year-old actress first appeared on Emmerdale as Sadie King in 2004, arriving by helicopter as the sophisticated and scheming spouse of Jimmy King (Nick Miles). She quickly established her authority within the King family and their business operations, frequently clashing with Tom King (Kenneth Farrington) and his girlfriend Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins).
Sadie King's Dramatic Return
Sadie embarked on several forbidden affairs, notably with Robert Sugden (then played by Karl Davies) and Charity's cousin and former lover Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley). She attempted to undermine the Kings' new showhome project and plotted with ex-lover Cain to orchestrate its destruction. Tragically, the showhome detonated on its launch day, resulting in the fatalities of Dawn Woods (Julia Mallam), Noreen Bell (Jenny Tomasin), and property agent David Brown (Peter Alexander).
Following a two-year stint in the Dales, Sadie departed in 2006. Yet she recently made a dramatic helicopter return two decades later, prompted by reports that Jimmy had perished in a motor vehicle collision. She has alleged she was conducting an affair with Jimmy without the knowledge of his devoted wife Nicola (portrayed by Nicola Wheeler), and is now searching for his unaccounted-for funds.
Four Marriages to Famous Musicians
Beyond the ITV soap, Patsy has been married four times and experienced prominent romantic relationships. In 1988, at age 20, she married keyboard player Dan Donovan, a member of Big Audio Dynamite alongside The Clash legend Mick Jones. Their marriage proved brief, ending in divorce three years later.
The star subsequently married Simple Minds' lead singer Jim Kerr in 1992, with whom she had a son, James, before the relationship ended. In 1997, the actress married Oasis singer Liam Gallagher. The couple had a son, Lennon, before parting ways in 2000. Patsy then tied the knot with Haysi Fantayzee star DJ Jeremy Healy from 2009 to 2010.
Recent Engagement and Career Highlights
In 2023, Patsy was reportedly preparing to marry for the fifth time following an engagement to her partner, Patric Cassidy, after an alleged five weeks of romance. According to reports, the property tycoon proposed over dinner in February 2023, having been introduced through mutual acquaintances just months before. The romantic Patric dropped to one knee within a love heart crafted from red petals on the sand as the sun descended behind them.
It marked the first occasion Patsy had been photographed with her partner, as she turned to social media to express her delight following the proposal, simply writing: "I said yes". Nevertheless, the engagement was terminated shortly afterwards. Patsy's representatives confirmed the engagement had concluded. "I can confirm they have split, and would appreciate that she is given her privacy regarding the matter. She is currently very busy working", a spokesperson for Patsy told The Sun on Sunday. Patsy hasn't publicly confirmed another relationship since then.
Patsy has worked in the acting profession since the early 1970s, beginning as a child star. In December 2022, she revealed she was joining EastEnders as Emma Harding, the estranged mother of cancer patient Lola Pearce (Danielle Pearce), appearing in Walford from January 2023 until September. Her television credits include Holby City, Agatha Raisin, and McDonald and Dodds, while film appearances include The Great Gatsby, Hanover Street, Lethal Weapon 2, and Shelter Island. She also competed on Strictly Come Dancing in 2010, placing 7th, and appeared on Celebrity Big Brother in 2015. Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 at 8pm and is available to stream from 7am on ITVX.
