Morgan: Harry and Meghan 'nearly as unpopular as Andrew'

Piers Morgan has launched a blistering attack on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, delivering one of his most cutting comparisons yet. Speaking from Lympne Castle in Kent during a live episode of The Royals Uncensored, the broadcaster claimed the couple are now “nearly as unpopular as Prince Andrew” and urged viewers to “just think about that.”

Morgan's Blunt Comparison

Referring to the man now known as Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, Morgan said: “Look at all the polling. They’re nearly as unpopular as Prince Andrew. Think about that for a minute. Think about that for a minute. How bad do you have to be to be considered to be as unpopular as Andrew? Right? But it’s true. The polling will show you.”

He acknowledged that the allegations against the former Prince were “obviously way worse” than anything Harry and Meghan had done, but insisted the comparison still held force. He continued: “They could have come back and just tried to show a different side. A little bit of humility, maybe even a sort of apology for what they did, calling the royals a bunch of callous racists and the rest of it. But instead, they’ve just reverted straight to type.”

Reaction to the Palace Letter

The remarks came as the panel dissected King Charles’s recent letter clarifying that the Sussexes are private individuals, not working royals. Morgan argued the couple had squandered any chance of a softer return to Britain by immediately reverting to familiar tactics of briefing and counter-briefing.

Morgan accused the couple of seeking proximity to the working royals purely for commercial gain. He continued: “What they want to do, they wanted to bring themselves back to being close to the royal family so they can bask in the reflected glory of the actual working royals and that they hope will make them more money because this is what they’re about.”

Panel Reactions

Hosts Katie Nicholl and Jo Elvin, alongside former royal butler Grant Harrold, largely echoed his frustration at the Sussexes’ response to the Palace letter.
