US anchor Megyn Kelly has criticised Prince Harry and Meghan Markle after a Daily Mail report suggested the couple could quit the UK once more, declaring "they're the UK's problem now."
Speaking on her podcast, Kelly read out a report by Alison Boshoff which alleges that a return to Montecito, California, had not been "ruled out" by the couple and could "come in weeks."
Security Review at the Centre
Kelly explained that whether the couple decided to make a complete U-turn would depend on the outcome of RAVEC's security review. Harry and Meghan, who arrived at Birmingham Airport last month, have been hoping to receive taxpayer-funded protection, a notion that has sparked widespread controversy and public backlash.
"This is incredible stuff," the journalist remarked.
Kelly's Criticism of Security Concerns
"They knew that they were not going to get this security," Kelly declared. "They'd already been denied, and all the reports that he wanted us to believe endangered him, all the terrorist stuff, whatever, they said that the threat is greatest in the UK."
"So, knowing he'd been denied, and that his alleged threats - which I don't believe - were in the UK, he moved back there anyway, with his wife and his children."
Kelly also referenced Harry and Meghan's last-minute decision to take Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet out of their UK schools and find new ones, saying "they did no due diligence."
Advice on Security Arrangements
"By the way, if they had just let the security take the kids and kept it on the down low without making such a big deal out of it, they probably would have been fine," Kelly quipped.
"Nobody would have known they even lived there. But his wife was posting all the Easter eggs of their location. People figured out exactly where it was, then they figured out the school. And then those two were horrified that their car got separated from their security in the morning traffic. By the way, you can put a guard in your car with you. It's done all the time - trust me," she said.
Remarking that Harry wanted the British taxpayer to fund his security, or "he's going to leave in a huff," Kelly added, "We don't want to inherit them again. We did our time," as she concluded: "They're the UK's problem now."
