Meghan Markle has revealed that her two-year-old daughter Lilibet spoke a touching six-word sentence to her ahead of the family's recent trip to Nigeria. The Duchess of Sussex shared the anecdote during a panel on women's leadership, where she discussed motherhood and her children's personalities.
Speaking at the event alongside Prince Harry, Meghan said: 'Our daughter, Lili, she's much, much tinier than you guys. She's about to turn three, and a few weeks ago she looked at me and she would just see the reflection in my eyes. And she goes, 'Mama, I see me in you.'' The Duchess added that Lilibet was speaking 'really literally' and that she 'hung onto those words in a very different way.'
Meghan also reflected on the challenges of balancing career and family, recalling advice from NBCUniversal's vice-chair Bonnie Hammer, who told her: 'You don't, you'll never find the balance.' The Duchess said that being a mother has always been a dream of hers and that she feels fortunate to have 'two beautiful, healthy, very chatty, sweet children.'
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex embarked on a 72-hour tour of Nigeria last Friday, beginning with a visit to the Lightway Academy school in Abuja.
