Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams described the trailer as 'so superficial and silly', questioning how many viewers would watch all eight episodes. 'It is so badly scripted, the gushing poses and the garish colours are more reminiscent of a kindergarten,' he told DailyMail.com. Fitzwilliams speculated that the show 'might well not be' worth saving after the delay.
The series will feature Meghan cooking recipes and hosting projects with famous friends like Mindy Kaling. Despite the criticism, Fitzwilliams acknowledged that fans of Prince Harry and Meghan will 'love' the show, but its mainstream appeal is 'highly questionable'. He added that senior royals, including Prince William and Princess Kate, are unlikely to watch, given their indifference to the couple's projects.
Meghan and Harry stepped down as senior working royals in 2020 and moved to California. Since then, they have released a tell-all interview with Oprah and a Netflix docuseries. The new show coincides with Meghan's lifestyle brand launch, American Riviera Orchard, which sent jam jars to celebrities last year.
