Meghan shares rare video of Lilibet making jam and beekeeping

Meghan Markle has shared a rare glimpse into her family life, posting a video on Instagram that shows her and her daughter, Princess Lilibet, making homemade jam and tending to honey bees.

The Duchess of Sussex shared the clip on her Instagram page, featuring the five-year-old daughter she shares with Prince Harry. The Sussexes usually keep their children out of the public eye, but have occasionally offered fans a look at their life in Montecito, California, before the family's recent return to the UK.

Kitchen moment with Lilibet

In the video, Meghan, 45, showed her almost five million followers a moment in the kitchen with Lilibet. As the camera pans from a pot of bubbling raspberry jam to the five-year-old, Meghan asks: 'what do you think Lili?'

'I think it's beautiful,' her daughter replies while mixing a dab of jam with a wooden spatula.

Meghan also gave a shout-out to the team at her lifestyle brand As Ever, which sells gift jams, candles, teas and wines.

Entrepreneurial roots

In the caption, Meghan wrote: 'When I was about eight years old I started my own business making handmade scrunchies I sewed on my grandmother's Singer sewing machine and sold for $1 a piece.

'I sold Girl Scout cookies, had lemonade stands, worked in a frozen yogurt shop and had countless other jobs. My entrepreneurial spirit was always there.

'As I shared years ago on The Tig (PS, love you ladies @thetiglets): "Behind every successful woman is herself" – and that's true… but there's more: a community of love, a squad of support, an amazing team.

'As I pinch myself looking at how this brand has grown, and as we introduce our holiday collection, I feel very proud, and grateful.

'A huge thanks to my team at @aseverofficial.'

'So proud of what we are creating together. Thanks for helping bring this vision to life.'

Beekeeping and family moments

The video also included childhood images of a young Meghan and moments from the creation of the As Ever brand, which originally launched as American Riviera Orchard in 2024 before being rebranded.

In one clip, Meghan attempts to eat as many raspberries off her fingers as possible before the video cuts to her in a beekeeper's outfit carefully moving a honeycomb. She asks Lilibet, who is standing behind her and also dressed in a beekeeper costume: 'You see, Lili?'

Another clip shows Meghan and Harry admiring the contents of a gift basket.

The Sussexes, along with Prince Archie and Lilibet, moved back to the UK in August ahead of the children starting school. Last week, two photographers believed to be international paparazzi were criticised for loitering near the grounds of the school attended by Archie and Lilibet.
