The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are celebrating Princess Lilibet's fifth birthday on Thursday, with Meghan sharing a touching family photograph on her Instagram account. The image shows the barefoot youngster, her long red hair cascading down and covering her face, held lovingly in Prince Harry's arms as he gazes at her adoringly. Meghan stands beside Harry, her arm resting on his shoulder, both parents smiling at their daughter.
A Heartfelt Birthday Tribute
The Duchess wrote in the post: "Our dream girl. Happy 5th birthday, Lili" followed by a white heart emoji. A second photo captures Lilibet standing barefoot on sunlit grass, wearing a summer dress, reaching out to touch the blue-purple blossoms of an agapanthus, commonly known as Lily of the Nile or African Lily.
Royal Background
Princess Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor was born on June 4, 2021, in the United States. She became entitled to the title of princess when her grandfather, King Charles III, ascended the throne, following rules established by King George V in 1917. Harry and Meghan began using the titles prince and princess for their children, Archie and Lili, after Lilibet's christening in 2023, following correspondence with the King on the matter.
The Sussexes now reside in California with their two children, Archie and Lilibet, maintaining a life away from the formal royal spotlight while still honoring family traditions.
