Meghan Markle's true feelings towards Prince Harry were on display during their appearance at the Project Healthy Minds' World Mental Health Day Gala in New York City on Thursday. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were honoured with the Humanitarians of the Year award for their work with the Archewell Foundation.
Body language expert Judi James analysed the couple's poses on the red carpet, noting that Meghan's gestures signalled admiration for her husband. James told Express.co.uk: 'This is a rather pared-back self-satisfied look of pride from the award-winning couple who pose here with Harry looking out into the cameras while Meghan's ritual is about mirroring his direction of gaze before turning her head to look up at his face to work signals of admiration for her husband.'
James also observed that Meghan appeared confident and serene, while Harry showed signs of inner anxiety. 'Harry adopts a slightly fiercer, campaigning look here, checking the buttons of his jacket in a self-comfort checking ritual to hint at some inner anxiety, but Meghan adopts a look of sweet serenity and confidence,' she said.
The joint appearance came days after Meghan attended Paris Fashion Week without Harry, who remained at their Montecito home with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. The children did not accompany their parents to New York.
