Meghan Markle’s ‘Summer Invitation’ Message Sparks Royal Row Speculation

Meghan Markle has issued a new newsletter to fans of her lifestyle brand As Ever, speaking about “summer invitations” just hours after reports emerged that she and Prince Harry have been offered a royal residence for their upcoming UK visit. The Duchess of Sussex is expected to join Harry in July for a One Year To Go event for the 2027 Invictus Games in Birmingham, with their children Archie and Lilibet reportedly accompanying them.

According to reports, the family has been offered one of King Charles’s private residences for their stay, but they have not yet replied. In what royal watchers see as a timely coincidence, Meghan wrote in her newsletter: “Summer invitations have a way of arriving all at once.” She then promoted two products from her brand: a 2024 Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc and a trio-of-jams bundle.

The full message read: “Summer invitations have a way of arriving all at once. A backyard dinner. An impromptu gathering on the patio. A table that seems to grow as more friends arrive. For your next soirée, bring a bottle of our 2024 Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc to open and enjoy together. Bright, refreshing, and made for lingering conversations. And for your hostess, a thoughtful gift to enjoy beyond the evening. Our Favourites, Gifted pairs beautifully with the season, featuring a giftable box of our fruit spreads they can savour in the days ahead, along with chocolates perfect for sharing around the table that night.”

Royal fans were quick to spot the timing and took to social media to express their views. One commented: “It’s all SEO, PR and content now, isn’t it? This woman has no values. No morality. No familial loyalty or depth.” Another said: “She's as subtle as a sledgehammer to the forehead.” A third opined: “Oh, the 'hidden messages'… not! She still thinks she has the upper hand.”

If Harry and Meghan do stay at a palace with their children, it would signal a major thawing in relations between the King and his son, offering a chance for Charles to reconnect with Archie, seven, and Lilibet, five, who last saw their grandfather in person during Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations in 2022.
