Meghan Markle shared a heartfelt reflection on motherhood after meeting pregnant singer Pia Toscano at The David Foster Foundation's 40th anniversary celebrations in Victoria, Canada, last Friday.
Speaking with Page Six, Pia revealed she crossed paths with the Duchess of Sussex and Prince Harry at the star-studded event. After her performance, Pia recalled that Harry congratulated her on her pregnancy with a hug, and Meghan touched her stomach before making a sentimental remark.
'The most beautiful time of your life'
According to Pia, Meghan told her: "This is the most beautiful time of your life." Pia also commended Harry for thoughtfully moving a chair for her.
Meghan and Harry, who share Prince Archie, seven, and Princess Lilibet, five, reside in Montecito, California. In a recent interview for InStyle, the mum-of-two was asked what her superpower is.
Meghan on motherhood and bravery
"Being a mum," she mused, adding, "I feel like we have superpowers because we juggle it all and enjoy it all with grace and grit at the same time."
In another touching moment, Meghan was quizzed about the things in life that make her feel brave. "Every day, when I feel a little bit like, 'Oh gosh, can I do this?' I go: 'Lili would do it,'" she said.
'I love being a mum so much'
While Meghan prefers to keep her children away from the spotlight, the 45-year-old has spoken about her personal experiences as a parent. "I love being a mum so much - it's my favourite thing," she said on her Confessions of a Female Founder podcast.
"It is the thing where you're like, 'Oh my gosh, I just need a break, I just need a minute, I just need a minute.' And the second that you step into the room, you go... 'Let me scroll through pictures of them endlessly on my phone.'
"My husband is like, 'My love, can you just give yourself a minute? Why don't you go work out? Why don't you go take a bath?' I'm like, 'I know, but I just want to cuddle.' It's the parenting paradigm where it is so full on and I wouldn't trade it for anything."
