The Duchess of Sussex faced fresh criticism online after promoting a £75 jumper from her brand, As Ever, with social media users accusing her of narcissism. Express reporter Adam Toms said he agreed with the backlash, questioning how she "does not feel one ounce of shame or embarrassment."
Social media reaction to the promotion
One user on X wrote: "Megan showing us again just how much she adores herself!" Another added: "She is a fascinating study in narcissism." The duchess modelled the product herself in the post.
Meghan launched the brand in 2025. The company has continued releasing new products and has not folded, suggesting some customers are buying her items. The duchess uses her title on the website despite not being a working member of the royal family. Her Instagram account, which has 4.9 million followers, has also been used to promote the products.
Website traffic figures
According to Similarweb, asever.com received around 141,100 visits in September, down from 182,000 in August. About 47 percent of September visits came from the United States, as products are not yet shipped to Britain.
By comparison, the King's Highgrove shop received about 48,326 visits in July against a six-month average of 56,574, Newsweek reported. In the same month, As Ever recorded its lowest monthly web traffic of 2026 at 126,655 visits.
Children's privacy questioned
The day before the jumper post, Meghan shared a video of her children, Lilibet and Archie, on her Instagram story. Critics noted the contrast with the recent fuss over European paparazzi allegedly trying to photograph the children at their school, given how often Meghan posts photos of them herself.
