Meghan Markle tipped to 'test the waters' before next appearance

Meghan Markle could be set to "test the waters" before making her first public appearance since her return to the UK, according to a royal commentator.

The 45-year-old returned to Britain last month, with the royal now thought to be living in the Cotswolds with Prince Harry and their two children. Although she removed herself from social media whilst a working royal, Meghan returned to Instagram last January.

Royal commentator's insight

Now, just after her return to the UK, royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams said that she could use her activity on the platform before making her next public appearance - whether that be in the UK, the US or elsewhere.

He told the Daily Express: "It would be well to keep an eye on Instagram, Meghan may well periodically test the waters there.

"She could spring a dramatic surprise with Harry, calculating that it would give her a boost after a period of silence. Whilst Harry, so long an extra in her shows, skydives, she keeps low."

Meghan has often shared the areas of her life on Instagram, including pictures of their two children, whom they are known to be extremely protective of.

Possible appearance before Christmas

He also said that he believes that she could make an appearance before Christmas, adding, "There is bound to be something in Britain before Christmas, though.

"However, if it is decided that the taxpayer contributes to their security, that won't be popular so we may expect a long pause before she officially appears anywhere."

He also shared that she could step out if there is a film premiere for Close Personal Friends, in which she stars as herself.

Family settling in

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex's main focus since their return to the UK has been settling their children into their new home. Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, now aged seven and five, are also enrolled in a school near their new home.

The family arrived back in the UK on August 26 and has now been back for over a month.
