The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are set to visit Balmoral next week, bringing their son Archie for the first time. The trip will see Meghan join the Royal Family at the Queen's Scottish retreat, where activities may include walks, salmon fishing, and grouse shooting.
However, the visit will not coincide with Prince William and Kate, who have already left Balmoral with their children. A source insists the timing was not deliberate to avoid each other, despite strained relations since the Sussexes moved to Windsor and split households.
Given criticism over private jet use, the couple is expected to follow the Cambridges' example and take a scheduled flight to Aberdeen. Meghan, an animal rights advocate and semi-vegan, may choose not to participate in shooting, as she did during a previous visit to Sandringham.
Meanwhile, the Queen has been impressed by her youngest grandson, James, Viscount Severn, for his fly-fishing skills. The 11-year-old has also shown enthusiasm for barbecuing, a skill that may come in handy during the family's stay.
