The Duchess of Sussex, 44, appeared as a guest judge on Sunday's episode of MasterChef Australia. During filming, which took place months ago while she and Prince Harry were in Australia, she was handed a phone to receive a FaceTime call from her husband.
Harry did not accompany Meghan to the set that day because he had other engagements. However, he made sure to check in on her while the cameras were rolling, and Meghan appeared surprised when the video call came through.
'Not Spontaneous'
Body language expert Inbaal Honigman, speaking on behalf of Casino.org, said the surprise was carefully planned. "This is clearly not spontaneous; it is planned, and was possibly hard to plan, so her gratitude is understandable," she told the Daily Express.
Honigman described Meghan's reaction during the call: "Prince Harry, joining in a video call, sees Meghan's body language become super proud. Her chin rises with pride, while her eyes soften with the gratitude she feels for her husband for taking the time to 'pop in'."
'Shocked' and 'Playful'
Just before the call ended, Meghan's expression changed, according to the expert. "Just before they hang up, the top of her nose scrunches in playfulness and disbelief. She's thankful but also shocked that they pulled this trick off. The scrunched nose is playful and flirty, and is the most natural and personal expression she shares during the whole broadcast," Honigman said.
She added: "For the rest of the show, Meghan attempts to remain classy, elegant and collected, but in front of her beloved husband, she allows herself to be a bit flirty."
