Meghan Markle made a playful joke about Prince Harry after sharing a new picture of herself holding a redheaded baby. The Duchess of Sussex posted two Instagram stories late Friday night from an outing with close friend Kelly McKee Zajfen.
Instagram Post Sparks Laughter
In the first story, Meghan held Kelly's baby, Jack Oliver Zajfen, who was born in March. The second snap showed her kissing the baby's head. She captioned it: "We all know I love a redhead." She added: "And let me stop you before they start, no it's not his baby [laughing face emoji]."
Kelly found the joke hilarious and reshared it with a long "hahaha" comment.
Prince Harry and the Ginger Gene
Meghan and Prince Harry share two children: Prince Archie, seven, and Princess Lilibet, five. Both have auburn hair like their father. Harry has often spoken about being a redhead. In a 2023 interview on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, he joked about the "ginger gene" being strong, referencing his mother's Spencer family. He said: "The Spencer gene is very, very strong... I thought the ginger gene wouldn't stand up to my wife's genes, but I was wrong! Go gingers!"
