Meghan Markle Faces Royal 'Betrayal' Over Eugenie Snub Claim

The Duchess of Sussex could face a major royal “betrayal” as one of her closest allies in Britain may end up “snubbing” her, it has been claimed.

Meghan Markle this week returned to Britain for an “extended stay” with her husband, Prince Harry, and their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. The visit came just weeks after the couple enjoyed their summer holidays in Europe, which included another stop in Britain and Portugal, where they own a property.

Princess Eugenie's Potential Role

Princess Eugenie, who recently welcomed her third child in Portugal, also owns a property there. The duchess is thought to have “explored the possibility” of working with Eugenie on a European venture; however, sources were quick to dismiss the rumours, saying the princess would likely not want to jeopardise her image.

A source told Radar Online: “Meghan may understandably see Eugenie as somebody with whom she has a genuine personal connection and who also understands the extraordinary pressures surrounding royal life.”

Friendship vs. Commercial Ties

However, they added: “But friendship is very different from attaching yourself publicly to somebody else's commercial operation.

“Eugenie has strong reasons to keep those two worlds separate, and her lack of support when the Sussexes come back to Britain is likely to be seen as a complete betrayal from Meghan's point of view.”

Meghan's Brand Continues

The Duchess of Sussex is still working on her lifestyle brand, As Ever, despite moving to Britain. Meghan's brand launched a new product – spiced apple butter – just as its founder landed in Britain this week.

While introducing the new product, As Ever described it as the “sweet taste of late summer”.
