Martha Stewart has claimed that Meghan Markle was overheard discussing a private meeting with King Charles at a California dinner party. Stewart, 85, told PEOPLE magazine that she attended the same event as Meghan, who had recently returned from a five-day trip to the UK in July.
Stewart's Account
Stewart said: “I had dinner with Meghan Markle the other night. We were both guests at a dinner party in California. And she had just gotten back from the palace. I didn’t talk to her really more than to say a couple words, but I know she was talking about it.”
The trip marked the one-year countdown to the 2027 Invictus Games in Birmingham. Prince Harry brought their children, Archie and Lilibet, along with Meghan. It was Meghan’s first visit to Britain in four years, and the Sussexes met King Charles and Queen Camilla privately at Highgrove.
Insider Dispute
However, an insider told the Mirror that Meghan and Stewart did not sit together at the dinner, and Meghan did not discuss the UK visit. The insider added: “Meghan was asked by someone else about her European vacation and said it was nice and that was the extent of it.”
Stewart also said she felt Meghan was “stepping into [her] space” following the launch of Meghan’s cooking show, “With Love, Meghan.” She added: “If you're an actress, it's hard to then transition to a princess and then from a princess into a homemaking guru on a television show.”
