The report into allegations that Meghan Markle bullied royal staff has never been released because it would also raise questions about the behaviour of Prince Andrew, according to author Andrew Lownie.
In his book Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York, Lownie wrote: "Some say a report on bullying accusations against Meghan Markle has never been released because it would also raise questions about the behaviour of the Queen's second son."
Allegations of Bullying
The accusations against Meghan date back to 2018, when Jason Knauf, then communications secretary for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, submitted a formal email complaint to Prince William's private secretary, Simon Case. The Times reported on the complaint in 2021.
Knauf alleged that Meghan drove two personal assistants out of her household and undermined another staff member. He claimed the Duchess seemed intent on always having someone in her sights, and that her behaviour left staff feeling humiliated, terrified and shaking with fear.
Former employees reportedly described early morning emails and dubbed her a "demon" and a "dictator". Staff who worked for Meghan allegedly nicknamed themselves the "Sussex Survivors Club".
Royal Historian's Account
Royal historian Hugo Vickers wrote that he had heard Meghan was "very rude" to a royal gardener, and that the late Queen felt compelled to intervene.
In his book, Lownie described the period after the accusations against Meghan appeared in the press, writing: "Buckingham Palace braced itself for historic complaints about Prince Andrew's bullying, profanities and impossible demands."
A spokesperson for Meghan said at the time that the story was an orchestrated attack on her character.
Thomas Markle Sr. Arrest
Separately, Meghan's father, Thomas Markle Sr., has appeared in a US court accused of possessing child sex abuse material, including alleged images of himself with naked young girls. He was arrested by FBI agents on Thursday after the seizure of dozens of items from two Los Angeles storage units he rented for nearly two decades. Mr Markle Sr. is charged with one count of possession of child pornography.
