Frank McAvennie has criticised Celtic for booking Oasis to play at Celtic Park on the 60th anniversary of the Lisbon Lions. The band will perform at the stadium on May 21, 23, 25, 28 and 29 as part of their Live '27 world tour, with tickets for all five Glasgow shows and the rest of the tour selling out over the weekend.

The May 25 date marks 60 years since Jock Stein's team became the first British side to win the European Cup, beating Inter Milan. McAvennie, who played under European Cup-winning captain Billy McNeill, believes Celtic should have organised a tribute inside the stadium instead of booking the band.
Speaking on the Let Me Be Frank podcast, McAvennie said: "It should mean everything to Celtic Football Club. But it obviously means nothing to Celtic. I'm really annoyed at that. I love Oasis, but they've got Oasis playing on the night of the 60th anniversary of the cup."
Call for a tribute
McAvennie pointed to the 50th anniversary event at the Hydro, which featured Rod Stewart, as an example of what should have been done. He said: "Do they not read (the room)? Does the people running Celtic not have a clue what's going on? They had a 50th at the Hydro, Rod Stewart did it and it was a brilliant night. They've got to have a 60th. Are they going to try and sell tickets somewhere else when Oasis is on?"
He suggested Celtic should have asked Oasis to play on a different night, noting that Noel Gallagher is a Celtic fan. McAvennie added: "Celtic Football Club is the Lisbon Lions, let's be honest about it. We've all played under great managers and won Doubles and Trebles. But the Lisbon Lions are what put Celtic on the map."
