Lesser-Known Royal Home Harry Could Stay In, But Camilla 'Would Leave'

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are set to visit the United Kingdom next month with their two children, Prince Archie, seven, and Princess Lilibet, five, marking their first family trip to the UK since 2022. It is believed the couple has accepted an offer to stay at a royal residence, a decision influenced by Harry's ongoing security concerns in the country.

Possible Royal Residence for the Sussex Family

While the specific royal home has not been confirmed, speculation centers on Clarence House, the London residence of King Charles and Queen Camilla. Former royal butler Grant Harrold, who worked for King Charles from 2004 to 2011, discussed the possibility on The Royals Uncensored podcast. Harrold noted that Clarence House has a suite of rooms reserved for family and friends, but he described this option as "unlikely."

Harrold added that Queen Camilla would likely vacate the property if Harry were to stay, citing Harry's critical remarks about his stepmother in his 2023 memoir, Spare. "I think she would probably move out if that happened," he said.

Security Concerns and Previous Refusals

Harry has previously turned down offers to stay at royal residences during his solo visits to the UK, but the need for top-level security for his wife and children has changed his stance. The Duke has repeatedly voiced concerns about his family's safety in the UK, which has been a point of contention since he and Meghan stepped back from royal duties in 2020.

The Royal Family has not officially commented on the upcoming visit. However, it is understood that King Charles has set aside time in his schedule to meet with the family and spend time with his grandchildren.
