The fourth Marquess of Reading, Simon Rufus Isaacs, a lifelong friend of King Charles, has died at the age of 84. His daughter, Lady Natasha Rufus Isaacs, confirmed the news on Wednesday in a public tribute posted to Instagram.
A Decades-Long Friendship
The aristocrat shared a close bond with the monarch that spanned many years. Lady Natasha, a 43-year-old fashion designer whose luxury label Beulah London is a favourite of the Princess of Wales, shared a collection of family photographs, including a childhood picture of herself in her father's arms.
A Moving Tribute
In her post, Lady Natasha described her father's final days, writing: "Daddy, Uppa, how incredibly blessed we were to have had such an incredible father and grandfather for so many years."
She added: "Every photo I can find is of you with my girls, hugging them, playing with them. You loved them with all your heart, and you showed them unconditional love. How blessed were we."
Praising his strength, she wrote: "You fought the good fight right up until the end, your bravery was immense and I am so proud of you. Your legacy will live on in us all."
Final Moments
Lady Natasha also revealed the moment she and her mother, Melinda, shared with him as he passed away. "As mummy and I prayed as you went into heaven, we told you you were only getting on an earlier train and we will see you again," she wrote, according to the Daily Mail. Her Instagram profile is currently set to private.
