King Charles Hopes to Meet Harry and Meghan Amid Row

King Charles is reportedly still hopeful about meeting Prince Harry and Meghan Markle despite a turbulent week that included a lost court battle and security disputes. According to The Mirror, the monarch has instructed his aides to find a time in his diary that suits both Harry and Meghan, who is not currently in the UK. The meeting could also allow the King to see his grandchildren, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, for the first time since 2022.

Harry's Challenging Return to the UK

Prince Harry arrived in the UK alone on Monday, having changed his plans to bring his family after it was revealed he would not receive taxpayer-funded security. Initially, it was believed the Duke would stay at Buckingham Palace, but the offer was reportedly withdrawn after Harry, 41, took too long to reply to the invitation, suggesting tensions between the monarch and his son. On Tuesday, Harry faced another blow when he lost his court battle against the publishers of The Daily Mail, Associated Newspapers Limited.

King's Determination to Reunite

Despite these setbacks, a royal source told The Mirror: “While nothing has been ruled out, conversations remain ongoing.” The source added: “The King would not pass up the opportunity to spend time with his grandchildren, and if there is a way of making it possible, he will do it.” Although Meghan, Archie, and Lilibet are not currently in the UK, reports suggest Harry could fly them over for a brief visit.

Longstanding Separation

The King last saw Harry in September but has not seen Meghan, Archie, and Lilibet since 2022. He has always been keen to maintain a relationship with his grandchildren, aged seven and five, but the physical distance due to their life in America has made this difficult. Harry has also refrained from bringing his children to the UK for years due to security concerns.
