The Prince and Princess of Wales are set to travel to Wales to mark the first anniversary of the late Queen's death, visiting St David's Cathedral in an emotional pilgrimage. The couple share a deep connection with the country, having lived there early in their marriage while William served as a search and rescue pilot at RAF Valley.
During their time in Anglesey, Kate was often seen shopping locally, including at a watersports store called Funsport. On one occasion, she forgot her purse and asked to reserve a wetsuit. When shopkeeper Dave Buckland asked for her name, she replied 'Mrs Cambridge'—a nod to her then-title Duchess of Cambridge. Buckland, unaware of her identity, remarked that it was an unusual surname. Kate simply smiled and said she would return later.
Another shopping mishap occurred in 2018 when Kate took Prince George and Princess Charlotte to Peter Jones in London to buy school shoes. She forgot to bring socks for them to try on, as they were wearing sandals. Like many parents, she had to borrow socks from the store to ensure the correct fit.
The Wales family recently moved to Windsor, with George, Charlotte, and Louis attending Lambrook School. The couple's visit to Wales will honour the late Queen's memory in a location that holds personal significance for them.
